Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information Novelus LLC, doing business as Novelus IP (“Novelus IP,” “we,” “us”), collects through this website, how we use it, and the choices you have. It covers this website only. Information you put into our products, such as Novi, Annota, VeraPat, Statuo, or Patent Law Prep, is governed by the agreement for that product.
What we collect
Information you send us. When you use the contact form, we collect your name, firm (if you give it), email address, the topic you choose, and your message.
Technical information. Like most websites, our hosting provider records standard server logs when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type, the pages you request, and the date and time. We use these only to run and secure the site.
What we do not collect. This website does not use cookies, analytics, advertising trackers, or tracking pixels. Our fonts are served from our own site, so your browser does not contact a third-party font service.
How we use it
- To respond to your message and follow up on your request.
- To arrange a demo or answer questions about our products.
- To keep the website running, secure, and free of abuse.
We do not sell your personal information, share it for advertising, or use it to train AI models.
Who processes it for us
We use a small number of service providers who handle information on our behalf and only for the purposes above:
- Netlify hosts this website and receives contact form submissions.
- Google Workspace provides our email, where form submissions are delivered.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect our rights and the safety of others. These providers may process information in the United States.
How long we keep it
We keep contact form messages for up to 24 months after our last exchange with you, unless you become a customer, in which case the customer agreement applies. Server logs are kept by our hosting provider for a limited period under its own retention practices.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us to tell you what information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it. Depending on where you live, including California and the European Union or United Kingdom, you may have additional rights under local law, such as the right to object to or restrict how we use your information. We will not treat you differently for exercising these rights.
To make a request, send us a note through the contact form and choose “Something else.” We will respond within the time the law requires.
Security
We use reasonable safeguards to protect the information we hold, and the site is served over an encrypted connection. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
Children
This website is meant for patent professionals and candidates for the patent bar. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will post the new version here and update the effective date above.
